Widely known as BKF chairs in Argentina, the iconic butterfly chair was first designed by three young architects in 1938 - Bonet, Kurchan and Ferrari-Hardoy. They, in turn, were inspired by the Tripolina chair used in North Africa by the British and then the Italians in the 19th century.
